James' New Toy

New quad shaped by Dennis for James in San Diego. Received a nice note a short time after delivery: "Dennis, thank you for the beautiful board! It’s exactly what I was imagining both in terms of design and color. You continue to impress me and I’m stoked to only ride your boards. My non- surfing sister is down from LA for the weekend and when I showed it to her she said, “Awesome, it’s a Murphy.” That sums it up best and I’m excited to take it out tomorrow and for many future sessions." The ultimate compliment! Thanks, James

New mini Simmons'ish Fisher

This is a new quad-mini which I made for Nick a few months back. He LOVES this stick and just ordered another one for back-up so he won't have any down time! How cool to have such a stoked professional customer who knows what he wants. He's a great exec chef too. dm

New Orange 6'-8"

This is Dave Berman's new ride. This stick is what I came up with when Dave mentioned that he was interested in one of those minis with two fins glued on the tailblock. I asked him if he had tried one. Naturally his response was "not really". This is a great example of Alex Villalobos' work in the laminating arena. He is smokin' hot with abstracts and swirls. We're so lucky to have him with Diamond Glassing. Dave waxed-up his new 6'8" winger and proceeded to out-paddle the Janitors @ Cardiff for ankle slappers. Great testimony from a guy who regularly rides a 7'10". dm out for now

Moon Plug is Finished

Our friend and test pilot Erik Baldwin from Leucadia worked closely with Dennis on the shaping and fine tuning of his "moon plug". It's a light, short quad built for So Cal waves and high performance turns. Erik colored and glassed the board himself and it turned out pretty damn cool. Here's the 411 in his own words:
"Well, she's finally done! ...and her maiden voyage this evening was spectacular! I can't explain how cool this board feels under my feet! its quite a responsive yet very retro-ish' in how it glides through flat sections. As for the performance, it seemed as if the better the wave, the more it opened up. Foot positioning was also very comfortable, as the sweet spot seemed to be pretty big! It was hard to do something wrong! Oh yeah, it flys really well! Punts are a natural reaction for this plug! Yew!"

complEggity

6'-2" x 2.5" disc/eggy thing for Jason Werbelow from Carlsbad. He took a couple of different ideas and fused them into this custom board. It has a wing flowing into a semi fish-like tail. Should work well for him here in the North County waves. Future fins with a custom FCS plug/mount up near the nose for his GoPro camera. Send us some shots Jason.

Sparkle In The Sky

Erik Baldwin's Moon Plug has passed through its latest phase.
Check out the color, art work and tint. Looking pretty good - and check out the touch of sparkle! Unique indeed. Fins and hot coat next.
Stay tuned for the end product. It will be flying past your orbit in Leucadia like a meteor streaking through your ozone layer. Watch out for pelting spray!

Next phase will be fins and glassing.
Stay tuned, as our test pilot is chomping at the bit.

Gimme Five

Up High...... Down Low....

Check out the newest board in Rob Tracy's quiver. It's a 7'-6" double-wing, swallowtail quad with a sweet airbrush job. He also had his family members hand imprints glassed in on the bottom of the board. Brilliant idea - It's a Family Affair! Here's Rob's note to Dennis:

Dennis, I just wanted to say thanks again for the new board, it's awesome! You were right, it paddles great and really sticks the turns like a dream! It was a chance meeting (don't you think?) and I sure am grateful to have made your acquaintance. Also, thanks for allowing us to come and watch you in action when you shaped the board... the girls were blown away and I know they are looking forward to having you shape them their own boards! As for me, I'll be enjoying the fish and looking forward to talking to you about a Regulator in the future!

Dennis, Board #15,129 and another happy surfer/friend.
