Groms New XMas Murphy
This young fella scored quite possibly the best Christmas present that one could receive. A brand new surfboard. I can only imagine how excited he must have been. His name is Curran Brooker, son of Mikey Brooker - long time Murphy friend. Here's a quick excerpt from pops:
"Well as predicted the grommet got a Christmas present he'll never forget! To say he was stoked is the understatement of the year! He told every person he walked by while we were out walking the dog "Hey I got a new surfboard!"

Or "Survival of the Stupidest"
Our pal, and director of the thought provoking film Manufacturing Stoke, Pierce Michael Kavanagh PMK knows how to whomp. Big time. An incredible body surfer, PMK can be found at the beaches around the Crown Jewel doing his thing. It's quite impressive. Even for us who have been in and around the ocean our entire lives. Tourists gawk and gasp, locals cheer and scardyyyy cats run for cover.

Wales
We have been working and playing with our new pal Andrew Smith, surfer from Wales (across the Pond) and founder of SBT (Surf-Board Tracker). He has come up with a great idea that helps shapers efficiently manage their orders and helps surfers protect their surfboards. It's an anti-theft device along with so much more. Check it out at http://www.surfboard-tracker.com
While he was here in San Diego, he got to attend the Sacred Craft festival and pick up his new 9'-4" Predator. I have a hunch that he enjoyed this past trip here to SoCal.

The Dusty Peninsula
This is my old buddy ,Greg Spaniol in deep Baja. It almost looks like Scorp, but I think it's better. Pete Enyeart shot these earlier in the month of Sept. Greg grew up surfing the right-handers @ the Shores and still has that charge built in. I hope that all my friends can do this after they retire!! wave-on dm out

New Tri
Chris lives in Northern Cal and surfs the Lane. He has a great little girl named Ashley. We placed her name next to his on his new ride. Please let all our friends know that we can deliver custom boards up north one at a time - or by the dozen up the coast for as little as $35 usd's with the help of Leon Fitchat and his custom trailer. He travels most weeks and is very dependable.
Thanks for the order Mr. Roth!

the Predator
We needed a traditional pintail a while back, so the Predator was enlisted. The original model hangs in my barn. It is a traditional shape with a “soft” bottom and up-rails in the tail. It worked great. It’s a noserider, but was a bit slow for the guy who rides a progressive nine footer. The next generation Predator got lower rails and a hard edge in the tail – wow, what a difference. That speeds up the game to match play and can keep up with any beachbreak or pointbreak. I’m 5’-10” and 165 lbs., so mine is 2-3/4” thick. You can thicken as needed. dm

New Orange 6'-8"
This is Dave Berman's new ride. This stick is what I came up with when Dave mentioned that he was interested in one of those minis with two fins glued on the tailblock. I asked him if he had tried one. Naturally his response was "not really". This is a great example of Alex Villalobos' work in the laminating arena. He is smokin' hot with abstracts and swirls. We're so lucky to have him with Diamond Glassing. Dave waxed-up his new 6'8" winger and proceeded to out-paddle the Janitors @ Cardiff for ankle slappers. Great testimony from a guy who regularly rides a 7'10". dm out for now

Broken in New Zealand
Cool story from New Zealand:
Hi: i have a board that my father gave me that started me surfing. he bought it at Opua Marina from an American couple who had brought it out to New Zealand on there yacht. It's 9ft with OFishl sidebites. Had a lot of dings about 30 from bounching around at sea for a few years plus a few delams - not the prettyest repairs but water tight. Its been a bit over a year hours of fun and sadly it has cracked the glass rail to rail underneath and prob a third on top (ended a great overhead offshore session).I think will prob have a go at fixing it. Any how just thought you might like to know the boards are being enjoyed all the way down here. I have a couple of pics of the thanks, Tommy
