Passing It Down

One the coolest things we can do as surfers is pass down the love for the ocean and the love for surfing. The other cool thing we can do is pass down a favorite board.

The first shot above is of Lucas Foster on his 9' 0" Murphy he got from his dad. The board was a replica of the Iron Cross that he road into the ground. (See below). The bottom shot is of Dad (Big Red).

Lucas is now 14 but when I first met him he was only 2. The Fosters lived next to me and we all became one big family. Aaron and I would always dream about Lucas and his brother Logan one day being in the lineup with us. Faster then we would have imagined, 12 years later, we are in fact living that dream.

Aaron loved his boys and his Murphy shaped Iron Cross so much he commissioned local Leucadia Artist Micaiah Hardison to paint the above painting which he proudly displays in his home.
